    The United States Coast Guard Expert Pistol Shot Medal was established as an incentive to recognize outstanding marksmanship in the Navy. The Bronze Medal may be awarded to Coast Guard and Coast Guard reserve personnel who have qualified as an expert in pistol firing in a designated qualification course.

    A silver "E" emblem is awarded with the Medal for wear on the ribbon when the ribbon is worn alone.
