History
The Arms Control and Disarmament Agency Superior Honor Award was established by the United States Arms Control and Disarmament Agency to reward members of the Foreign Service, Civil Service, and the United States Military for 1 year or more of service that is distinguished by extraordinary performances or special acts. Qualifying service includes contributions to the accomplishment of the agency's objectives or government interests, the exceptional performance of official duties, innovation in the performance of long-term tasks, accomplishments in increasing productivity and efficiency, and the exceptional devotion to duty under adverse conditions. The Silver Medal was made obsolete and was replaced by the State Department Superior Honor Award.
