History

The Arms Control and Disarmament Agency Distinguished Honor Award was established by the United States Arms Control and Disarmament Agency to reward members of the Foreign Service, Civil Service, and the United States Military for exceptionally outstanding service or achievements which have national or international significance. Qualifying service includes outstanding performance provided to the United States government, leadership resulting in the successful accomplishment of missions, and sustained achievements fulfilled while in a position of authority or judgment made in the public interest. The Bronze Medal was made obsolete and was replaced by the State Department's Distinguished Honor Award.
