History


The Army Philippine Campaign Medal was established by War Department General Orders on January 12, 1905. The Bronze Medal was awarded as a one-time service medal to United States Army personnel in recognition of service in the Philippine Islands during the Philippine Insurrection between 1899 and 1913. Approximately 44,000 Medals were issued.

A silver Citation Star was worn on the ribbon to denote acts of heroism or bravery.

Both numbered and unnumbered exampled of the Bronze Medal exist.
