History
The Army of Occupation Medal was established by War Department General Order in June 1915. The Bronze Medal was awarded to military personnel who provided garrison occupation service in the United States protectorate over Cuba between July 18, 1898, and May 20, 1902, following the end of the Spanish-American conflict. The Medal was also often awarded to Cuban veterans who were eligible for the Spanish Campaign Medal.
