History

The Army Air Force Navigator Badge was established by the United States Army Air Forces during the Second World War. The Wings superseded the Observer Badge and were awarded to highly trained Navigator Officers. The Wings were replaced in 1951 by the United States Air Force Navigator/Combat Systems Officers/Observer Badge.

There are multiple versions of the Wings which vary by composition.
