History

This Order is conferred upon national citizens and foreigners in recognition of extraordinary achievements, service to Zimbabwe, and service to humanity.

It has a Civil and a Military Division. The only difference between the Civil Division and the Military Division is the colour of the ribbons. Civil Division awards have a green ribbon with black red and orange stripes, while Military Division features a second red stripe.
