Uganda
The Republic of Uganda is country in in East-Central Africa. The landlocked country is bounded by Kenya, South Sudan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, and Tanzania. The country has a population of 41 million people. The capital and largest city is Kampala. English and Swahili are the country’s official languages. Other languages and dialects are spoken throughout Uganda.
Some history facts - Until 1,700 to 2,300 years ago, the people of Uganda were hunter-gatherers. In 1894, the area was ruled by the UK. On 9 October 1962 Uganda gained independence. After that Uganda was under military rule for more than 20 years before the appointment of Yoweri Museveni as the president of the country in 1986. His administration suffered human rights violations and involvement in internal military conflicts in neighboring countries, yet there was some reassurance and economic recovery.
In 2014, the Uganda People's Defense Force (UPDF) had 46,800 active staff.
The Order of the Shield & Spears of Buganda Kingdom was the highest title.
