History

The Life Saving Medal is awarded to Malian military personnel and civilians for life-saving actions. It may also be awarded to foreigners who have saved a life while in Mali.

The obverse inscription translates to "One People, One Goal, One Faith," and the reverse inscription translates to "Life Saving Medal." The initials on the obverse and reverse stand for "République du Mali" (Republic of Mali).
