History

This Medal was established by Emperor Haile Selassie I in 1966 in commemoration of the expulsion of Italian forces from Ethiopia in 1941. It was awarded in recognition of meritorious service during the Italian invasion from 1936-1941.

The obverse features an Amharic inscription that can be translated to "1933 Year of Mercy, Victory 25th Year Commemoration, Omedla."
