History

The Order of the Grand Star of Djibouti is the highest decoration conferred in Djibouti. The President of the Republic is the Grand Master.

The obverse features an inscription that translates to "Republic of Djibouti" along with the date of independence and initials that stand for the nation's motto, "Unité, Égalité, Paix" (Unity, Equality, Peace).
