The Medal of the National Liberation Army is one of four "moudjahidine medals" created in commemoration of Algerian Independence. It was conferred upon individuals who fought in the National Liberation Army against the French in the Algerian War of Independence from 1954-1962. It could also be awarded posthumously.
Recipients of this Medal were ineligible to receive the Medal of the Resistant.
