Karl Reinhold Schubert was originally from Wesenberg (today's Estonia area). He moved to St. Petersburg in 1844 and started a jewelry store the same year. Following his death, his widow Sophie and son Eduard Johann, continued his company manufacturing beautiful Russian decorations.
